October 28th, 2026 | TripBuilder Release Notes v384

Written by Product Management

We are happy to announce our latest TripBuilder release. Please see these release notes for the most significant changes. Let us know if you have any questions, feedback, or ideas for features or improvements!

.GENERAL

More reliable hotel and rental car photos from suppliers

Some suppliers occasionally answer a photo request with something that is not a picture, such as a web page or a data file. These responses could be stored and shown as a broken image for up to a day.

TripBuilder now only passes on real images. Anything else is rejected right away, so a broken photo is no longer kept and served to every user.

.DISCOVERY

New Discovery (Beta)

For the first time, customers can book holidays, flights, or hotel-only products directly — without first creating a full itinerary. This release launches the feature in Beta. Each of the three tabs below can be enabled separately.

  • Holidays: search runs through templates and builds live hotel + flight packages for the traveller.

  • Hotels: a modern, OTA-inspired booking flow with interactive maps and filters — the direction we’re taking product-level selection across the platform.

  • Flights: also gets an improved experience through New Discovery, with several larger work packages following over the next few weeks.

  • Coming next: a reimagined B2B flights experience and a stopover flow.

  • Further out: starting a trip from experiences/activities.

.SMART PLANNER

Multi-Day Activity (MDA) support

Multi-day cruises and tours now span their full duration in Smart Planner instead of only showing on the first day. The Discovery API now exposes multi-day activity data end-to-end, improving support for MDAs across the template editor, planner, and Smart Planner.

.PLANNER

Supplier activities in package templates are no longer silently dropped

When a third-party supplier activity was the default activity of a package-builder module, it was often missing from the Planner after the template was turned into an itinerary. No error or warning was shown, so the day simply had no activity, although the same activity could still be added manually.

The activity is now resolved again when the template is instantiated, or you are warned if it can no longer be found.

Extended Content Rules replaces Content Rules for accommodation

Available from: 28 October 2026

Switch-over deadline: 27 November 2026

Extended Content Rules is now the way to set up accommodation content rules in TripBuilder. The current Content Rules for accommodation will be removed on the 27 November 2026, only V2 rules will be used. Transport content rules don’t change.

What’s new:

  • One rule can cover several distribution channels. You no longer need a copy of the rule for each channel.

  • One rule can combine conditions, e.g. supplier + area + star rating. Conditions are joined with AND.

  • Each rule is either “Exclude” or “Include Only”. Individual conditions no longer have their own include/exclude switch.

  • “Include Only” now wins over “Exclude”. If both match an offer, the offer is kept.

  • The cancellation filter has four options: Non-Refundable, No Cancellation Info, Fees Apply, Free Cancellation.

  • “Inventory” is now called “Nezasa” in the source list.

Guide: Migrating from Content Rules to Extended Content Rules | Nezasa Help Center. It has step-by-step instructions, examples and an audit checklist.

Need help? Contact your Customer Operations Manager to review your rule set, or raise a ticket through Intercom and mention “Content Rules”.

Choose several preferred suppliers for hotel descriptions and pictures, in order

Until now, one preferred supplier could be set for hotel descriptions and pictures. Under Distribution Channel → Integrations → Preferred suppliers you can now build an ordered list: add, remove and reorder suppliers.

Descriptions and pictures come from the first supplier in the list that has them, with GIATA as the fallback. An existing single preferred supplier appears as a one-item list, and an empty list keeps the default order. This setting is only visible to Nezasa; please ask your Nezasa support to set up or change your preferred suppliers.

Outbound webhook when an on request component changes status

We now send a component_on_request_status_changed webhook event when an on request component moves to Booked, Failed or Cancelled. This includes manual changes from On Request to Cancelled and accommodation cancelled during a booking change. The payload carries the component reference, type, old and new status, and the supplier confirmation number when there is one. Tour operators add the event to an existing webhook subscription.

NTP-69372

Components report no longer repeats rows for copied itineraries

We fixed the Customer Care Components report showing the same row several times, and losing some supplier booking references, when copied itineraries share component ids. Each itinerary's component now appears as its own row.

NTP-71021

Component status matches after full cancellation of on request hotels

We fixed a mismatch where the itinerary showed a supplier-confirmed on request hotel as Booked while the Components report showed Cancelled. With the setting "Book and Cancel Inventory components without allotments and Adhoc components" on, the confirmed component is now cancelled. With it off, behaviour is unchanged.

NTP-70834

Clearer yield price adjustment labels

In the group tour Departure Dates dialog, "Add" is now "Yield increase" and "Cut-off" is now "Yield decrease". "Cut-off" was easily confused with a booking cut-off date. Pricing and existing departures are unchanged. Labels are English only for now.

NTP-70954

Remove Flights keeps the rental car drive to the airport

We fixed Remove Flights deleting the rental car drive to the departure airport after a new PNR was pulled. This caused a false "Transportation doesn't fit" on the inbound flight and blocked booking changes. The rental car connection now survives flight removal and PNR re-import.

NTP-69621

Customer Care shows an error when a PNR cannot be saved on an inventory flight

Entering a PNR on an inventory flight showed a success message, but the PNR was never stored. We now show "The PNR cannot be updated for this flight. No changes were saved." and make no history entry. Editing other fields still works.

NTP-69081

Failed booking changes no longer leave hidden supplier bookings

When a booking change books some services and one fails, we now cancel the services that did book. If a cancellation fails, we add an itinerary note and send the cancellation-failure email. Both list the supplier references that are still booked.

Force Discard still makes no supplier calls. Before it discards a change, it now writes an itinerary note that lists every component still booked at the supplier, so operators can cancel them directly. If the note cannot be saved, force discard stops with an error.

NTP-69811

.APIs

Connect API activities can return the next departures of multi-day tours

The activities details response of the Connect API has a new, optional nextDepartures field. For a multi-day tour, the supplier can list its bookable departures for the next 12 months, each with its start date and a "from" price per person in a double room.

This lets travellers see other departure dates when the date they asked for is not available. The field is optional, so nothing changes for other suppliers. TravelExchange is the first supplier to adopt it.

NTP-71029

Bookings paid through the Booking API confirm automatically at checkout

When payments registered through the Booking API already cover the order, checkout now confirms automatically and skips the payment form. No new transaction is created and the booking moves to "Confirmed by Supplier & Paid". Before, this path raised an error. Overpayments are not refunded automatically. Billing shows the uncovered amount.

NTP-60021

Checkout API books itineraries with only own-arrangement or ad hoc components

The Checkout API start-booking call now returns "Booking Initiated" for itineraries with only own-arrangement or ad hoc components, instead of "Nothing to book". Calling it again on an already booked itinerary still returns "Nothing to book".

NTP-71014

Duplicate local supplier emails fixed for Connect API hotels

We fixed a regression that sent tour operators a duplicate "Booking confirmed" local supplier email for every confirmed booking with a Connect API hotel. Cancellation emails are fixed too.

NTP-71016

.INTEGRATIONS

Content rules for AlliedTPro hotels apply to the right hotels

A content rule limited to AlliedTPro, with a country or area condition, did the opposite of what was set up: it removed hotels from other suppliers and kept the AlliedTPro hotels it should have filtered. The number of hotels removed also changed from one search to the next.

Supplier-specific rules now only apply to that supplier's hotels, and country and area conditions now work for AlliedTPro hotels.
