What it is
Smart Planner can show travelers a day-by-day story of their trip, right alongside the itinerary. Instead of just seeing hotel and activity bookings, travelers can read a short narrative for each day — what they'll see, do, or experience — with a photo, in their own language.
This view only appears on trips that actually have day-by-day content written for them. Trips without it look exactly as before — nothing changes for them.
What travelers see
Each day of the stay appears as its own card, labeled with the day number and date — for example, "Day 1 · Fri, Oct 16, 2026".
Each card can show a short text and a photo for that day.
Days with no story of their own still show their date and location, so there are no gaps — but no filler or repeated text is added.
If a trip has several stops, each stop's first and last day naturally covers arrival and departure, since that's usually where that information is written.
Everything displays in the traveler's selected language, as long as a translation was written for it.
How to add it to your trips
This is set up per stop, in Cockpit, when editing a template:
Open your template in Cockpit.
At the stop you want to add a story to, click the edit (pencil) icon.
Go to the Stories tab (next to Accommodations and Activities).
Add a new story — give it a title, write the text, and attach a photo if you have one.
To pin a story to a specific day of that stop, start the text with a day tag:
[day:1],[day:2], and so on — day 1 is the arrival day at that stop, day 2 the next day, etc. Put the tag right at the very start of the text, nothing before it.A story without a day tag still shows up, just as a general description of the stop rather than one specific day.
You can translate each story — write a version in each language your travelers might select; if a language is missing, Smart Planner falls back to the text you did provide.
Example
Say a template has a 2-night stop in Lucerne. In the stop's Stories tab, you add two stories:
Title: Lucerne's Old Town — Text:
[day:1] Start your stay with a stroll through Lucerne's medieval Old Town, past the Chapel Bridge and the Lion Monument.Title: Lake Lucerne cruise — Text:
[day:2] Spend your second day on a scenic boat cruise across Lake Lucerne, with views of Mount Pilatus and Mount Rigi.
In Smart Planner, travelers then see two cards for that stop: "Day 1 · [arrival date]" with the Old Town story and photo, and "Day 2 · [next date]" with the lake cruise story and photo — each dated to the traveler's actual trip.
Good to know
If you later shorten a stop's stay, a day-tagged story that no longer matches a real day of that stay will still show — it just displays as a general stop description instead of being tied to a specific day.
You can add more than one tagged story for the same day — they'll all show, in the order you added them.
Descriptions for the travel between stops (e.g. the transfer day itself) aren't supported as their own day-by-day entry yet — for now, put that information in the first story of the stop you're arriving at, or the last story of the stop you're leaving.
