Overview

From the results shown in the Discovery Overview, users can select an itinerary card, which will direct them to its corresponding details page. The Discovery Details page provides more comprehensive information about the chosen itinerary template and is the starting point for planning. It includes options to select a start date, determine traveller count, characterise travellers as children or adults, and specify room distribution.

Know more:

Both Suggested Tours and Branded Tours have Discovery Details pages with similar UI and UX structures. To understand how these two tour types differ, please refer to the article Suggested Tours and Branded Tours.

Discovery Details

The structure of the Discovery Details page can be understood in two primary sections:

Itinerary Planning

Positioned at the top of the Discovery Details page, the itinerary planning section presents the following elements:

  • General itinerary detail:

    • Background image

    • Location

    • Name of the itinerary

    • Short description

    • Duration range of the itinerary

  • Instantiation box:

    • Illustrated map of the route, including stop locations

    • Travel start date:

      • Presented as a calendar if the number of available departure dates exceeds 20 or is unlimited

  • Displayed as a list if the number of available departure dates is less than 20

Note: Template availability results from the collective availability of all its comprising components. With calendar representation, dates will appear greyed out if:

  • the trip is not available for that date

  • for a fixed multi-day tour, the trip is not available for that date OR the trip has availability, but there are no allotments

The date will not be presented in both scenarios for a list representation.

  • Number of travellers, child/adult characterisation, and room distribution.

Note: TripBuilder classifies as a child a traveller aged 0-17 years, whereas an adult is categorised as any traveller above 18.

  • Hotel preferences dropdown (if configured)

  • A Start Planning button leading to the next step in the Route Builder

  • Contact Us link

Itinerary Details

Located at the bottom of the Discovery Details page, this section contains the following details:

  • Information about each stop:

    • Duration of stay (in days)

    • Location name

    • Description (also referred to as story/stories)

    • Transportation type between locations

    • Images

Know more:

For additional details on stop descriptions please consult the Stories article.

The itinerary details are presented differently, depending on whether the template is stop-by-stop or transit activity-based.

Here's an example of a stop-by-stop-based itinerary:
