Planner Copilot | Speech-to-Text Support

We are happy to introduce a new speech-to-text feature for Planner Copilot, allowing users to use voice input, especially useful for longer texts. Released as a public beta, this feature processes voice audio using your browser's default speech recognition service:

  • Chrome/Edge use Google's speech recognition service.

  • Safari uses Apple's speech recognition service.

  • Firefox employs a different service depending on the user's locale.

Please note that if speech recognition is disabled in your browser settings, the microphone icon will not appear in the Copilot interface.

Hint: We plan to migrate to OpenAI’s Whisper soon, enhancing browser independence and ensuring that sent data is covered by the same OpenAI enterprise data policies as the Copilot chat.

Feature availability: this is a public beta feature available to all users.

PLANNER

Corrected Rental Car Date Selection on Itinerary Extensions

TripBuilder offers support for itineraries with extensions, whether as pre or post-programs, in addition to the main itinerary. Previously, itineraries with extensions that included a rental car product faced limitations, as not all travel dates and locations were available for pick-up or drop-off. This issue has been resolved, allowing Planner users to select from multiple valid dates and locations that take into account the full duration of the main itinerary and its extensions.

.CHECKOUT

Enhancements to Reduce Booking Failures

To improve accuracy and minimise accommodation booking errors, we introduced a new data requirement during checkout. This requirement is specifically for itineraries that involve direct supplier integrations supported by the Connect API.

The Date of Birth field is now mandatory for itineraries containing components from direct integration suppliers, such as TBO and Peakwork. Regardless of the Distribution Channel configuration - whether the field is set to Hidden, Optional, or Required - it will be displayed and enforced as mandatory during checkout.

Direct Navigation Between Checkout and Customer Care

We have streamlined the navigation process for users who wish to review their itinerary in Customer Care while in the Checkout flow. This enhancement aims to save time and effort:

  • Direct Navigation Link: A new “Open Itinerary in Cockpit” link is now available on the right-hand side of the checkout page, offering direct access to the itinerary overview page in Customer Care.

  • User Access: This link is accessible only to users with Customer Care access permissions, such as Tour Operators or Agent Admins.

Improved Tooling for Booking Failures Support (Musement)

To assist non-technical users in understanding the reasons behind booking failures, we have enhanced our support tools by providing additional data. Specifically for the activity supplier Musement, if a transaction fails, the specific error messages from Musement will now be displayed in the booking history events.

This increased visibility allows users to make more informed decisions and enables autonomous troubleshooting, helping to identify and resolve issues without needing technical support.

Enhanced System Events

We have extended the functionality of System Events by adding new filtering capabilities and incorporating data from interactions with external suppliers. These enhancements aim to provide users with more precise and comprehensive data analysis tools. Key updates include:

  • Date Filtering: Users can now filter logs by date using calendar pickers.

  • Additional Filtering Options: Enhanced filtering logic is now available for the Severity, Type, Action, and System columns. Additionally, users can filter logs by Supplier Name.

  • New Supplier Systems: Logs from Musement, Carnect, SoftConEx and AerticketHUB are now available.

  • New Supplier Events:

    • Musement & SoftConEx: Availability Request, Book, and Cancel events.

    • AerticketHUB: Search, Verify, Book, Cancel, and Retrieve events.

Charging Cancellation Fees for Inventory Products (Allotments)

We have improved the cancellation handling for inventory components with allotments by introducing the calculation of cancellation fees. Previously, these fees were always considered to be zero. The key enhancements include:

  • Cancellation Fee Calculation: When inventory components are cancelled, regardless of whether they have allotments, TripBuilder calculates the associated cancellation fees. This ensures consistency in how cancellation fees are presented in both Planner and Customer Care.

  • Automatic Fee Updates: The cancellation fees are calculated using the current date as the cancellation date. This approach ensures that the fees accurately reflect the conditions at cancellation time.

.APIs

Enhancements to Booking API for Tour Operator Surcharges

We have improved the Booking API with better information on tour operator surcharges:

  • More Details: The API now offers more details about applied surcharges, enabling users to better understand which surcharges are applied to bookings and their calculation.

  • Consistent Naming: Surcharge names will remain consistent, even if updates occur in the system settings. This ensures that users always see the correct surcharge names, addressing previous issues with name changes.
