The supported inventory product types will be presented as menu items. These inventory products represent offline products contracted directly between the client and suppliers and unavailable for a supplier connected via a live API.

Note: While the option Accommodations - Bed Banks is also present in the inventory Products menu, this only provides read-only access to non-bookable content (general information on the accommodation, also known as NBC) imported from a bed bank or external NBC data provider. If you intend to create inventory accommodations, use the Accommodations - Own Inventory option.

Follows an overview of the available product types and references to support articles acting as introductory information, tutorials and guidelines on creating and managing such products.

Accommodations - Own Inventory

Manually create accommodations with your own contracted rates.

Transfers

A transfer in the Inventory can model any of the following means of transportation:

  • Bus Ride

  • Boat Ride

  • Car Ferry

  • Flight

  • Shuttle Ride

  • Road Transfer

  • Train Ride

  • Motorcycle

  • Bicycle

  • Walking

Transports

Inventory transports can be used as primary connections between Departure and Arrival airports in a template, like live flight offers. At the moment, transport can be of type:

  • Flight

  • Train

  • Bus

Transit Activities

Transit activities are activities/tours that can be used between stops and might often be used to model multi-day tour packages such as:

  • Group Tours

  • Cruises

  • Fixed Private Tours

  • Rental Car Tours

Stop Activities

Stop activities in the inventory model activities or tours that take place in a specific location, for example, in a city. They always start/end in the same place and can represent anything from a few hours to a multi-day tour:

  • Private Day Tours

  • Private Multi-Day Tours

  • Cruises

Base Services

Use base services to model additional cost items of a trip, such as:

  • Driver/Guide Options

  • Entrance Fees

  • Services Charges

Rental Cars

Create rental car products that are default and exchangeable in a template.

Upsell Products

Create additional up-selling products that the user can add after planning in the checkout:

  • Insurance

  • Roadbook

  • Additional Services

Inventory products can be used in the same way as live supply products.

When inventory products are included in an itinerary, and a booking occurs, you must ensure the product is booked on your supplier. This usually follows an offline process previously defined between the client and supplier.

TripBuilder's Inventory supports a "supplier info" feature that lets you maintain a list of suppliers and assign them to inventory products, centralising supplier contacts. Learn more about this feature in the article Inventory Supplier Management.
