How to configure Catalogue Pricing for Hotels?

In this tutorial, you'll learn how to define an itinerary's catalogue price for the different accommodation categories.

Steps to Configure Catalog Prices

Important:

The two steps described below must be done by the Nezasa team. Please get in touch with your customer success manager or our support team.

  • Create Product Categories

  • Set the upper and lower limits for when the Catalog price must be applied

It defines the upper and lower percentage limits for which the catalogue prices must be used. Once a travel planner instantiates a new itinerary, Tripbuilder will check if the price of the default accommodations fits the configured range. If so, the catalogue price will be used; otherwise, the dynamic price of the accommodation will be considered.

  • Add catalogue prices for the accommodation categories.

In the Cockpit, access the template you'd like to add the catalogue prices by clicking first on Itineraries on the header:

Select the desired template:

Click on Checkout and Open to be able to edit the template:

Click on the Categories tab:

Click on Edit Category and select the category you'd like to add to the template:

Create a Pricing Season

  • Define the default and recommended hotels for each stop in the itinerary template.

Note: Make sure that you select default and recommended hotels for each stop in the itinerary so that you guarantee that the catalogue price can be applied.

Default and Recommended hotels should have the same star rating.

Make sure you save and publish your changes:

Catalogue prices applied to an itinerary

A new itinerary is created with the Default category selected.

As soon as the travel planner starts, TriBuilder will check if the default hotels are available and if the total price fits the selected category's upper and lower range of the configured catalogue price.

Case 1: Default hotels unavailable

If default hotels are unavailable, dynamic prices will be used.

Case 2: Total price per pax is not in the configured catalogue price range

In the example below, the catalogue price range for the Default category is between 80 and 120 USD (catalogue price: 100 USD, Upper limit: +20%, Lower limit: -20%), and the total price for the select dates is 1,610 USD. In this case, dynamic pricing is used.

Case 3: Total price per pax fits the configured catalogue price range

The catalogue price will be used.

In this example, the catalogue price range for the Default category is between 1,280 and 1,920 USD (catalogue price: 1,600 USD, Upper limit: +20%, Lower limit: -20%) and the total price for the select dates is 1,610 USD. In this case, the catalogue price of 1,600 USD will be used.
