Overview
Child Reduction or Child Prices can be defined as special offers on different products and amenities that allow for controlling the price based on pre-configured age ranges.
Important:
This feature needs to be enabled by Nezasa. Please contact our support team to enable the feature flag available at the General Settings > Cockpit > Age Dependent Special Offers.
Child reduction can only be added and applied to inventory products. Most supplier APIs do not support child prices.

Click on Add Special Offer:

Note: A Child Reduction may have multiple Special Offers associated with it. It's important to have a clear naming that generally identifies a Child Reduction and specifically identifies each Special Offer we want to define.
To define each Special Offer:
Enter the Name of the special offer.
Select the Age Range (min and max) years.
Choose the Price Type from four possible values:
Price (Absolute): allows to specify the exact price children will pay for their stay in the room.
Price Change (Amount): increases/reduces the total price calculated for the service/room category.
Price Change (Percentage): increases/reduces the total price calculated for the service/room category by applying a percentage discount based on the room rate for child guests.
Price Change on Pax Rate (Percentage): increases/reduces the total price calculated for the service/room category by applying a percentage discount based on the assumed rate per passenger (PAX) for child guests.
Note: A product can define a group/room price or a per PAX price. Depending on what's chosen, the discount may be defined in different ways.

Special offers aren't available overall
Define the Price (either as a value or percentage depending on the previous selection).
Add further offers to be able to define different age ranges and prices.
Click on Add Season:
Enter the Start and End Date when the special offer is applicable.
Add as many seasons as needed.
Finally, determine whether the defined child reductions Only apply to over-occupancy (exclusively).
This feature guarantees that the set-up rate only applies to children when the number of occupants exceeds the allotted limit. TripBuilder enforces a minimum occupancy prerequisite specifying the least number of adult rates charged per room.
Example: Consider the following configuration:
In this scenario, the room would only accommodate one additional occupant, permitting up to a maximum of 3 PAX in the room. Looking at the remaining conditions we have:
This implies that a room could be entirely booked with 2 adults and 1 child, totalling 3 PAX, but cannot accommodate 3 adults.
If the setup is altered to:
It would be possible to book a room for 1 adult and 2 children, still maintaining a total of 3 PAX. Nevertheless, 2 adults and 2 children would not be permissible, as the total PAX would exceed the room's maximum occupancy. |
The choice to exclusively apply this to over-occupancy circumstances is available only when the Pricing Type is adjusted to Occupancy-based , this is Price per Room.
Click Save.
The child reduction is automatically applied to products in the front end. If a product is added to an itinerary that includes a child and the age range matches a child reduction special offer, the total price for the itinerary is automatically updated.

If the amenity is added to an itinerary that includes a child and the age range matches a child reduction special offer, the child reduction will be automatically applied, and the total price for the itinerary will be automatically updated.
Note:
TripBuilder doesn't establish the ages that are considered for children. On instantiating an itinerary, travellers can define child travellers aged up to 18 years.
TripBuilder will use the traveller's defined age to request offers from suppliers. Depending on the product, supplier, and their own child definition, TripBuilder will receive offers, including reduced prices for children, when available.
Often, suppliers don't deliver offer prices per PAX. Thus, TripBuilder cannot say the actual price attributed to a child.
