Overview
A "From-Price" associated with a template, when available, constitutes important pricing information for any travel and particularly for more cost-sensitive travellers. A "From-Price" is a reference price with the lowest value within a pre-defined period (e.g. a pricing season). When defined and available, it is presented in (i) Discovery Overview, (ii) Discovery Details and (iii) Discovery API.
A "From-Price" is always associated with a template and can be generated/updated manually or automatically. For example, after updating seasons and prices for inventory products, the "From-Prices" of the template should be regenerated as soon as possible to avoid a mismatch between the new pricing and the previous "From-Price".
Manual Update
For triggering a manual update on a template "From-Price", perform these steps:
Go to TripBuilder Cockpit
Click on Inventory
Click on Itinerary Templates under Package Builder
Select the intended template
If the template is not in Draft mode, click on the three dots at the top right of the screen and then select Checkout & Open
Click on the Miscellaneous tab
Scroll down until you reach the From-Prices area. Click on the Regenerate button to update "From-Prices"
Note: A "From-Price" refresh action is a data and computation-intensive task. Running in the background, the results can take up to 10 minutes to be available.
Once generated and available, the reference "From-Price" is presented in the Miscellaneous tab. While in the most common use case, a single "From-Price" is associated with the template, for group tours with different categories defined, multiple from prices (one per category) are presented as in the example below
Click on the Save button
Click on the three dots at the top right of the screen and then select Publish
Important:
Defining a "From-Price" by directly entering a price without using the Regenerate button is possible, but almost sure it will create a mismatch as different levels of configuration (e.g. markups, yielding price adjustments) may not be perceived and considered in the manual calculation.
Further, a Regenerate action or an automatic update (next section) will overwrite any manual value previously defined.
