Overview

Managing many multi-day activities and creating modules and templates manually for those adds a lot of work and increases the maintenance efforts of the content. The feature companion templates and modules relieve Product and Content Managers of those additional steps.

Important:

This feature needs to be enabled by Nezasa. Please contact our support team or your customer success manager to enable the feature flags available at Settings > General Settings > Companion Templates:

  • Allow user to control companion module template generation

  • Allow user to control companion itinerary template generation

What is a "Companion" Template/Module?

A companion template or module inherits all its information from a specific activity product of the Nezasa inventory and is generated by TripBuilder. The companion template/module has the following characteristics:

  • Template/Module Management

    • The companion template/module will be listed among the other templates/modules.

    • Users cannot edit. Thus, it cannot be checked out.

    • It contains as its core (and as only product) the activity product from which it inherits description, title, text, pictures, and tags.

    • The start/end location of the template/module will be what is defined in the activity product.

    • The companion template/module is automatically updated when the activity is updated.

  • Discovery

    • A companion template will be listed in Discovery as any other regular template.

  • Planner

    • Companion modules can be selected as pre-/post-modules.

How to Enable the Companions for a Product Activity?

  • Go to the created inventory activity

  • Check out and open the product activity

  • Click on the Miscellaneous tab

  • Scroll down to the option Companion Generation

Enable the option you need to generate a new template or a module based on the selected activity.

Please note that it takes a moment for TripBuilder to generate all required companion objects. Once the template is generated, it is listed among the "referencing templates" on the same tab.
