Overview
This setting determines the strategy for picking accommodations from live suppliers in a specific area that will be checked for availability. It is particularly relevant in situations where the total offerings of all bed banks is over 1000 accommodations, since TripBuilder requests via TravelgateX are limited to this number.
Selecting the Property Sorting Strategy
Go to Settings
Click on Distribution Channels
Click on your TripBuilder ID
Click on the Planner tab
Scroll down into the Product-Specific Configuration section
Click on the Property Sorting setting
Choose between the following configuration options:
Geographical proximity to search centre: Sorts the top 1000 accommodations based on proximity to the centre of the chosen area.
Hotel stars, decreasing: Sorts the top 1000 accommodations starting from 5-star hotels moving downwards.
Technical sort order (deprecated): This older algorithm selects the top 1000 accommodations within the area without any specific selection strategy.
Example
Let's say you're a tour operator wanting the search results to prioritise 4 and 5-star hotels in cities like Paris or New York where the number of accommodations exceeds 1000. By choosing hotel stars decreasing as your sorting option, you ensure that the top 1000 hotels returned in your search will include these higher-rated establishments.
Note:
Please be aware that this sorting method only affects the selection of accommodations for cost and availability checks. It does not influence the order of results displayed on the UI.
